Attention to detail. Craftsmanship. Luxe finishes. They’re what you’ll notice in this two-level office fitout in Melbourne’s CBD.

Working with ground-breaking architects Techné (renowned for The Esplanade upgrade, The Bridge Hotel, and Brunetti Flinders Lane) and leading commercial builder Shape Australia, the design of this new office space is awe-inspiring.

The details-driven concept was a welcome challenge for our ISM team, with each set of custom joinery required to be highly decorative, as well as functional and durable. The joinery scope was a major component of the build, and one of which we remain intensely proud. A modern workspace, the building contains both office areas alongside areas for social gathering and breakout meeting rooms. The degree of coordination and collaboration with other trades to bring the architect’s vision to life was, of course, critical.

The joinery work ranged across most areas in the space, including reception; tea points and library units; bar and servery counters; banquet seating; fixed furniture items like high bar tables, countertops and stools, and planter boxes. Also included was the construction of doors and operable walls, and collaborative work areas with AV integration.

Throughout, textures and colours continue to catch the eye – with golden or black stained timber set against aged steel panels, tan leather contrasting with vibrant blue carpet, smooth white tiles and textured concrete stone.

Though full of intricate detail and bold design, this is a space that never feels overly busy or cluttered. Instead, it’s a space that invites calm, clarity and focus, against a backdrop of Melbourne cool.
